LyC in Renewable Energy - student industry day

TAFE NSW hosted the inaugral Launch Your Career in Renewable Energy event at its Newcastle campus in Tighes Hill

Organised in collaboration with the NSW Department of Education, the event will welcome students from local schools to explore career opportunities in the renewable energy sector.

Students began the day by participating in a live webinar, where they will engaged with industry professionals to explore the exciting opportunities in clean energy (see details above for webinar content).

Following the webinar, students took part in TAFE NSW-led activities, including:

  • Hands-on demonstrations of renewable technologies such as solar, wind, hydrogen, and battery systems
  • Interactive sessions with employers and training providers
  • Presentations on vocational pathways and future study options
  • An exciting opportunity to inspect the TAFE NSW hybrid renewable energy training truck, including its hydro renewable energy module, showcasing innovative tools used in clean energy training

This initiative supports the Hunter Region’s clean energy transition and aims to inspire the next generation of skilled workers in one of Australia’s fastest-growing industries.
