• The future of energy: gain insights into how renewable energy is shaping a sustainable future, with over 100,000 new jobs projected by 2050.

LyC in Renewable Energy - student industry day

TAFE NSW will host the Launch Your Career in Renewable Energy event at its Newcastle campus in Tighes Hill on Thursday, 31 July 2025.

Date: Thursday 31 July 2025

Time: 9:30am - 2:30pm

Organised in collaboration with the NSW Department of Education, the event will welcome students from local schools to explore career opportunities in the renewable energy sector.

Students will begin the day by participating in a live webinar, where they will engage with industry professionals to explore the exciting opportunities in clean energy (see details above for webinar content).

Following the webinar, students will take part in TAFE NSW-led activities, including:

• Hands-on demonstrations of renewable technologies such as solar, wind, hydrogen, and battery systems
• Interactive sessions with employers and training providers
• Presentations on vocational pathways and future study options
• An exciting opportunity to inspect the TAFE NSW hybrid renewable energy training truck, including its hydro renewable energy module, showcasing innovative tools used in clean energy training

This initiative supports the Hunter Region’s clean energy transition and aims to inspire the next generation of skilled workers in one of Australia’s fastest-growing industries.
