People who want extra learning support

If you want extra support with your reading, writing or numeracy, you can enrol in a fee-free Smart and Skilled foundation skills course.

Foundation skills are basic language, literacy, numeracy and computer skills that help people find a job or enter vocational training.

The courses include Certificate I qualifications in these areas:

  • Access to Vocational Pathways
  • Access to Work and Training
  • Basic English Language Skills
  • General Education for Adults
  • Information, Digital Media and Technology
  • Skills for Vocational Pathways
  • Work Education

and Certificate II qualifications in these areas:

  • Foundation English Language Skills
  • Foundations for Vocational and Further Study
  • General Education for Adults
  • Routine English Language Skills
  • Skills for Work and Study
  • Work and Training in the Community Sector
  • Skills for Work and Training
  • Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways
