First cohort graduates

The first intake of trainees completed their 2-year Infrastructure Traineeship at the end of 2022.

To celebrate this milestone, a graduation ceremony was held at Ultimo TAFE on Wednesday 1 March 2023 and jointly hosted by TAFE NSW and School Infrastructure NSW (SINSW).

Approximately 60 graduates of the 74 attended the event along with special guests and family and friends. Special guests included:

  • Secretary of Education, Georgina Harrison
  • Managing Director TAFE NSW, Stephen Brady
  • Executive Director TAFE Digital, Lyn Rickard

The host organisations partnering with the program to provide work placements for the trainees include School Infrastructure NSW, Health Infrastructure, Transport for NSW and numerous construction contractors and consultants.

The trainees received their certificates from their TAFE head teachers for the completion of their traineeship. Of the graduating trainees, 44% are females, 7% are First Nations and 33% are from regional areas. The trainee graduates studied Certificate IV courses in Project Management Practice, Business, or Procurement and Contracting.
