Infrastructure Traineeship for Year 12 school leavers

The NSW Government’s Infrastructure Traineeship is perfect for Year 12 students interested in developing their professional skills in the infrastructure industry, as well as having the potential to make a difference to communities across NSW.

About the traineeship

The Infrastructure Traineeship program is a great way for Year 12 school leavers to gain valuable on-the-job experience, training and nationally recognised qualifications over 2 years.

As an Infrastructure Trainee, you will start your career in a growing industry with many opportunities for progression. After finishing the program, you can choose to work on larger projects or get more experience with different companies.

Trainees study 1 day per week with TAFE NSW towards a BSB40120 Certificate IV in Business, BSB40920 Certificate IV in Project Management Practice or PSP40616 Certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting while working. Studying through TAFE not only allows you to pursue further qualifications, but your newly developed skills can help you find other employment during the program or right after graduating.

There are exciting opportunities available in the public and private sector so if you're keen to get involved in some of our country's most important infrastructure projects then this traineeship is for you.

Traineeships are limited so apply early to avoid disappointment.

What trainees are saying

Infrastructure Traineeships
I applied for the infrastructure Traineeship because I had no strong thoughts of what job I might like in the future. I looked around for a while and then found the program which seemed like an opportunity I couldn’t miss out on. I am studying project management because it’s where I could see myself in a few years time. The traineeship has been monumental, amazing and worthwhile. The most enjoyable experience is working with the different teams. The other trainees, my supervisor and the buddies have made the entire experience enjoyable and helped me every step of the way. My advice for school leavers considering applying is to just go for it. It’s a great opportunity that you wouldn’t want to miss.
