About Infrastructure Cadetships
School Infrastructure NSW (SINSW) is delivering new school buildings, major upgrades and maintenance strategies to ensure every school-aged child has access to high quality education facilities at their local public school. This encompasses the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.
SINSW's Infrastructure Cadetship gives up to two years’ on-the-job experience to students in their final year of studying a relevant diploma or second last or last year of a bachelor degree. This is an exciting opportunity for young people who are looking to continue or commence their career in the government or infrastructure sectors.
Roles are available in metropolitan Sydney and regional New South Wales for students completing degree or diploma level qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, Planning, Property, Information Technology/Computer Science, Sustainability, Procurement, Business or related areas.

Areas of recruitment
Under the program, School Infrastructure NSW will recruit cadets in the following directorates.

Delivers programs that ensure our schools are at the heart of local communities, by opening school facilities through initiatives such as Share Our Space, joint use and shared use. Also focuses on innovative strategic partnerships, such as with local councils, and the development of contracts and agreements for partnerships. |

Asset Management |
Provides support to school maintenance functions. This includes day to day advice to schools on all asset matters, maintenance program planning and delivery, capital works projects planning and delivery, community use of school facilities, school security, and demountable accommodation planning and support. |

Business Enablement |
Ensures internal governance, planning, policies and systems enhance overall capability and capacity towards an innovative, future-focused and sustainable infrastructure strategy that achieves the objectives of the NSW Government and meets the needs of a growing NSW population. |

Implements the infrastructure delivery aspects of the School Assets Strategic Plan 2031 (SASP) to ensure alignment of operational infrastructure delivery strategy, with a focus on strategic and operational planning, governance and evaluation of service delivery performance. |

Develops infrastructure planning strategies to ensure school infrastructure meets the needs of a growing population and enables contemporary learning and teaching. |

Provides strategic planning, driving a reform process which supports SINSW delivery of effective infrastructure programs and responds to changing pedagogies. Includes educational service planning at a State, regional, district and local level to identify evidence-based requirements to inform decision making for future education infrastructure assets. |
