Preschool Outcomes Measure

The Preschool Outcomes Measure is a key reform of the Preschool Reform Agreement and will be a formative assessment tool aimed at supporting teachers and educators to better understand children’s learning and development.

Preschool Outcomes Measure trial

As agreed by Education Ministers, a key priority for NSW is to ensure the Preschool Outcomes Measure equips teachers and educators with an assessment tool to better understand a child’s individual learning and development.

From 2024, NSW will begin to trial select tool/s that can assess children’s outcomes across multiple domains, to ensure NSW is well placed to meet the national requirements come 2025. NSW is committed to working in partnership with the sector throughout the development and implementation of the trial to ensure a best practice approach is adopted.

Information on how to participate in the trial will be provided to the sector in early 2024.
