ECEC Digital Hub passes first test with flying colours
The early childhood education and care (ECEC) Digital Hub celebrated an important milestone in August with the successful release of the new system to a pilot group of services – and participants are raving!
09 September 2024
The 26 preschools involved in the pilot have been able to view data in the Digital Hub that has been automatically collected from their child care management software (CCMS) system along with data taken directly from the National Quality Agenda IT system (NQA ITS).
It looks much better than what we had to use before.
This is going to make life a lot easier.
It’s wonderful to be able to pull the info in. It will save so much time, cross checking and inputting is taken away. The worry is taken away.
Feedback from the pilot group has been extremely positive. The pilot not only demonstrated how the new system will significantly reduce double handling, simplify processes and save time. Services also said they really like the look and feel and ease of use of the new system.
The success of the pilot marks significant progress towards establishing the Digital Hub as a key technology asset and the primary platform for administering program funding for ECEC providers. The platform has been designed to receive data directly from services’ compatible software systems, making it easier and faster to keep records up to date, apply for and accept funding and complete requirements such as the annual preschool census.
Over time, the new system will replace ECCMS, which has been used for over a decade.
So far this year, nearly 200 ECEC services have adopted a CCMS system, which will enable the automated data transfer into the Digital Hub. A further 79 services are in the process of adopting a CCMS.
With only 4 months left in the year, now is the perfect time to make sure you’re digitally ready for the release of the Digital Hub in 2025.
