The Quality Support Program is designed to support services to embed continuous quality improvement and improve the quality of their teaching practices.

The program has recently been updated and now offers even more tailored support to the sector through increased flexibility and more face-to-face sessions.

Changes to the program

The Meeting NQS Pathway, formally known as the Quality Support Pathway, is a free program that supports services’ ability to meet and/or exceed the National Quality Standard (NQS) and will focus on priority quality areas.

The program is available to services that are currently rated Working Towards the NQS and located in NSW. This includes long day care, family day care, preschools, mobile preschools, occasional care, Multifunctional Aboriginal Children's Services and outside school hours care services including vacation care services.

Eligible services can submit an EOI to participate in the program or may be directly referred by the NSW Department of Education as the regulatory authority for early childhood education and care (ECEC).

A recent review of the pathway has improved delivery to better support services who participate.

Changes include:

  • updating the name of the pathway to better reflect its intent to support services
  • extending the duration of the program to improve flexibility
  • increasing the number of face-to-face sessions for services.

Changes have also been made to the Compliance Support Pathway. The Compliance Support Pathway is for early childhood education and care (ECEC) services who have previously received several non-compliance notices in Quality Areas 2 and 7, to better understand, apply and comply with the National Law and Regulations.

Changes are designed to improve flexibility and include:

  • extending the duration of the pathway to up to 10-weeks, based on service need
  • increasing the number of face-to-face visits in each round of the pathway.

These changes are designed to help participating services get the most out of the pathway, while balancing other needs of their service.

Services are now able to express interest in participating in the Compliance Support Pathway. Eligible services are those who have previously received several non-compliance notices but have no current open issues or actions and who are located in NSW.

Services may also be directly referred to the Compliance Support Pathway by the NSW Department of Education as the regulatory authority for ECEC.
