Part A sets the foundation for how we design and deliver school infrastructure. It explains the vision and goals behind our standards, helping project teams, consultants, and stakeholders clearly understand what we’re aiming to achieve.
By outlining our design intent and project requirements, Part A supports better alignment from the start—so everyone is working towards the same big picture.
The document defines the high-level design expectations (visions) and measurable goals (objectives) and demonstrates how these design visions and objectives align with the Government Architect’s design principles for schools.
The intention of this document is to provide context that informs the wider EFSG design standards, identifying key priorities and criteria to support school design decision-making processes.
Meeting the PART A outlined in this document does not replace obligations to meet other requirements of the EFSG.
