About the hub
Why we need a Screen Use Research and Resource Hub
There is limited evidence about the impact of screens on children and young people. Such knowledge gaps exist despite the rapid rise in youth take-up and use of smartphones and tablets, often at much earlier ages than what many consider healthy or safe. Consistent with the NSW Plan for Public Education's call for evidence-based strategies that promote wellbeing in our education systems, there is a need to demystify how screens are misused and what impact these problematic uses are having on children.
What we do
The Screen Use Research and Resource Hub is a repository of up-to-date and useful resources on screen-related matters in education. The purpose of the hub is to ensure that evidence on how to promote healthy screen use moves from research into government policy, schools, early childhood education and care, and homes.
Who our research supports
Children and young people, parents and carers, educators, researchers and policymakers can make informed, evidence-based decisions about screen use with the help of hub resources.
