Role description: Hermidale PS is looking forward to welcoming an innovative classroom teacher who is positive, caring, open to new experiences and enjoys working in a collaborative environment focused on improving student learning outcomes. When teaching and learning, we connect with our local community and have links with regional, city and interstate communities. As a classroom Teacher, you will be well supported to provide learning opportunities to our Students Kinder to Year 6. Our school is very well resourced, and we promote connections with quality Teaching colleagues and local schools.

Hermidale Future Farmers - our school is one year into a three year Growing our Future Project. Come on board and learn about farming, sustainability, the agricultural industry and what is possible when a group of passionate people come together to support the Education of the youngest members in their community.

Accommodation details

Are you ready to try something new? You can have the benefit of working in the small village of Hermidale while living in a town just down the road. The best of both worlds! You will be able to live in Nyngan and access the services, sporting precincts and shops. If you have children, Nyngan provides Care and schooling from birth - Year 12. Enjoy a leisurely drive from Nyngan to Hermidale along the sealed Barrier Highway. Plenty of time to listen to a podcast, smell the fresh air and think about your great day ahead ....bliss!

Accommodation in Nyngan - housing supply varies and will need to be looked into further however the caravan park has new units which overlook the stunning Bogan River.

Please note: Teacher Housing availability can depend upon a variety of factors, including vacancy status and potential priority offers to other staff with full time rural appointments. Teacher Housing Authority (THA) may not be able to confirm allocation of properties until all applications have been received and processed. Applicants are encouraged to discuss property availability directly with THA. Participants of the Rural Experience Program are not eligible for the Housing Rental Subsidy but may rent a property (at market value) through the THA if available.

School details

Hermidale Public School is is a TP1 rural remote school on the traditional lands of the Wangaaypuwan Ngiyampaa people. Hermidale is a farming and mining community located 45 km west of Nyngan, within the Bogan Local Government area. There are currently 14 students enrolled with 2 identifying as Australia's first nation peoples. All students live in Hermidale and the surrounding district.

Our school is supported by the Mitchell network of schools and has strong partnerships with the families, Hermidale PS Parents & Citizens Association and Nyngan Aboriginal Education Consultative Group. Our partnership with the Girilambone, Hermidale & Marra Creek Leading and Learning Hub and the role of the Primary Maths Specialist Teacher will support our School Improvement.

To effectively achieve student growth and attainment in literacy and numeracy, the school will continue to engage in the strong professional learning community that is inclusive, respectful and purposeful.

The school plays a critical role in the rural and remote community of Hermidale. Parents, staff, students and community members share a strong sense of ownership and commitment to the ongoing development of the School. The community supports students 'Reaching for the Stars' within a Positive Behaviour for Learning culture that promotes positive, respectful and responsible learners.
