Teaching in NSW rural and remote schools
Under the Rural and Remote Education Strategy (2021 - 2024), the department is implementing a number of initiatives to support rural and remote schools.
At Teach NSW teachers can explore rural and remote destinations (including the benefits and incentives and subsidies, allowance and bonuses available to rural teachers) and find out more about other available programs.
Qualified teachers from other systems, states or overseas locations can find details on how to teach in NSW public schools at Teach NSW.
Professional experience placements in rural and remote schools are available to eligible final year pre-service teachers. Information about this can be found on the Pre-service teacher resources page. For further details, email ProfessionalExperience@det.nsw.edu.au
