Rural Experience Program

The Rural Experience Program provides an opportunity for teachers to take part in a short-term placement in a Rural and Remote school.

Placements are created by principals and are fully or co-funded by the Rural and Remote Education initiative in cooperation with placement host rural schools. Placements are extra to the establishment at the host rural school. In addition to their substantive salary, participating teachers will receive a program allowance consisting of $500 at placement commencement and $500 per week during their placement period.

Applications for 2023 Rural Experience Program placements have now closed. Subscribe to our email alert list for program updates and announcements.
