Rural Experience Program
The Rural Experience Program provides an opportunity for permanent teachers to take part in a short-term placement in a Rural and Remote school.
Placements are created by principals and are funded by the Rural and Remote Education initiative. Placements are extra to the establishment at the host rural school.
Applications for placements commencing in 2020 have now closed.

An allowance of $500 per week is available to teachers for the duration of the placement.
Given the current climate, the schedule for this program is currently on hold. Subscribers to our email alert list will be notified with program updates as they become available.
The anticipated schedule for 2021 placements was:
- Step one - Principals of Rural and Remote schools create Rural Experience positions within their schools (Term 2)
- Step two - Interested teachers apply for Rural Experience placements (Terms 2 - 3)
- Step 3 - Offers made to successful applicants (Term 3)
