Terms 1 - 4, 2024 (Applicants can request a shorter duration in their application).

Role description:

  • Year 7-12 English.
  • Northern Borders Access Program – English Studies and Standard
  • Sport, Wellbeing, Extra Curricula and other duties as required.

Accommodation details

Teacher Housing may be available (a two-bedroom furnished unit).

Please note: Teacher Housing availability can depend upon a variety of factors, including vacancy status and potential priority offers to other staff with full time rural appointments. Teacher Housing Authority (THA) may not be able to confirm allocation of properties until all applications have been received and processed. Applicants are encouraged to discuss property availability directly with THA. Participants of the Rural Experience Program are not eligible for the Housing Rental Subsidy but may rent a property (at market value) through the THA if available.

School details

Goodooga Central School is located in the Brewarrina Shire in the far North West of New South Wales. The school provides a highly personalised learning environment to our 42 students who are studying from Kindergarten to Year 12. Ninety-Eight Percent (98%) of our students identify as being Aboriginal and the school strives to embrace the local Yuwaalaraay culture and language. The school is committed to making transparent decisions in consultation with community members, particularly through the strong Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG) and Community Working Party (CWP). Goodooga Central School is a member of the Northern Borders Senior Access (NBSA) initiative which also incorporates Boggabilla, Mungindi and Collarenebri Central Schools. There is a strong and supportive staff, including a school executive who works across the whole school K-12. The school is focused on the needs of students and has established supportive community links.
