School details

Enngonia Public School is a little oasis in the outback of north-western NSW. The school is well resourced, and we have the capacity to purchase any new resources that will enhance the educational outcomes of our 17, P-6 students.

All learning spaces are equipped with new, BFX furniture that can be arranged and rearranged to suit your teaching style and the learning styles of our students. Our 2023 students all identify as Aboriginal.

The physical environment is absolutely gorgeous, both within and beyond the school fence. Summers are long and hot, but low humidity ensures the heat is bearable and all classes have brand new, state-of-the-art air conditioners. There is an inground pool onsite.

We are surrounded by the red dirt and mulga that is typical of the iconic outback setting. The school is just a short stroll to the Warrego River, which is an important feature of the cultural heritage and identity of the Murrawarri, Budjiti and Kunja traditional owners.

Enngonia is 100kms from Bourke on a fully sealed road. There you will find medical services and grocery stores to meet most needs. We are 40km from the Queensland border for those who would like to go exploring interstate on their weekends.

We enjoy mid-term break which occurs each term over the Friday of Week 5 and the Monday of Week 6, as well as heat week at the beginning of the school year.

If you have a partner who will be seeking employment during 2023, please call us to discuss employment opportunities. Likewise, if you have a teaching bestie you cannot bear to leave behind, get in touch to discuss other teaching roles available at our school.

Staff are friendly and welcoming, and are looking forward to working with our newest staff member/s.
