  • Being an active contributor to a vibrant country school with a strong wellbeing program

  • Approval to teach 7-12
  • Evidence of innovative teaching practice with a willingness to design and implement strategies for future focused learning
  • Commitment to student wellbeing
  • Willingness to work effectively with a dynamic and diverse teaching staff, including in collaborative practices such as team teaching.

Accommodation details

Bombala has some access to Teacher Housing, including apartments and larger houses which may be occupied on a shared basis. Access to Teacher Housing may be available to staffing needs of both Bombala Public and Bombala High School. The school has strong ties with the local community and has been able to leverage this at times in the past to accommodate staff.

There are potential accommodation options in Cooma (approximately 1 hour away from Bombala) and the potential to car pool with staff. Alternatively, a car pool currently operates from the South Coast (Merimbula, Pambula, Eden) where housing options are easier to come by.

The township is served primarily by two real estate agents (One Agency Monaro and Nutrien Harcourts Bombala) with Cooma real estate agents often managing additional rental accommodation in the Bombala township

Please note: Teacher Housing availability can depend upon a variety of factors, including vacancy status and potential priority offers to other staff with full time rural appointments. Teacher Housing Authority (THA) may not be able to confirm allocation of properties until all applications have been received and processed. Applicants are encouraged to discuss property availability directly with THA. Participants of the Rural Experience Program are not eligible for the Housing Rental Subsidy but may rent a property (at market value) through the THA if available.
