Things you need
- 2+ players
- Blindfold
- Obstacles (water bottles, soft toys, cones etc.).
Giving directions is an important mathematical skill. Help your child develop their understanding of position and length with this two-player game.
One person selects a location across the room or yard and puts obstacles in the way. The other player is blindfolded or closes their eyes.
Tip:
Be safe! Make sure the obstacles you've chosen won't cause harm.
The person without the blindfold now has to give verbal instructions to the blindfolded person on how to reach their target location, using words like:
The blindfolded person needs to reach the location without hitting any obstacles.
Once the blindfolded person reaches the target location, swap over. The person who gives the best directions helping their partner avoid the most obstacles wins!
