The NSW Department of Education is supporting experienced industry professionals to become teachers through the Mid-Career Transition to Teaching Program.

The program will support those with significant prior experience, including academics, high-performing professionals and subject-matter experts to complete their Master of Teaching (Secondary) and enter a career in secondary teaching.

Participants will be given the opportunity to be employed at a school part-time as a paraprofessional, after completing 6 months of study, and whilst completing the remainder of their qualification. Financial support will be provided with a $30,000 one-off training allowance and a $30,000 study completion bonus phased over the first three years of employment in a NSW public school.
