The NSW Department of Education is partnering with Western Sydney University to deliver the High Achieving Teachers (HAT) Program in NSW public schools. The program aims to support applicants from diverse socio-cultural and linguistic backgrounds or those who may teach in a community languages school, to train as teachers in selected Greater Western Sydney public schools.
Under the program, participants will be granted a $20,000 scholarship to complete a Master of Teaching (Primary), Master of Teaching (Secondary) or Master of Teaching (Secondary) STEM.
Financial support
- $10,000 per year of full-time study (up to $20,000 in total)
Employment support
- Professional experience placements in NSW public schools in your area
- Support to apply for a position in a NSW public school upon successful completion of your studies
Ongoing mentoring and support
- Online or flexible hybrid classes after school/work hours
- Information and peer networking sessions
