Public Education Week 2025 - Ignite your potential

Public Education Week 2025 will be held from 4–8 August (Week 3, Term 3), and this year’s theme is Ignite your potential.

This is a time to come together and celebrate the strength, diversity and achievements of NSW public education — where every student is supported to learn, grow and thrive.

Why it matters to families

Public Education Week is a great opportunity for schools to open their doors, welcome parents, carers and community members, and showcase the incredible learning experiences happening every day. From early learning to Year 12, public schools across the state will be celebrating the people and programs that make a difference in students’ lives.

We encourage families to get involved by attending open days, school events or community celebrations. It’s a chance to see firsthand how schools are igniting potential in every child — through creative classrooms, dedicated staff and inclusive school cultures.

For school staff

Schools can access a communications toolkit to help them prepare for the week. The toolkit includes:

  • Canva templates for social media tiles and posters

  • Certificate templates to recognise student and staff achievement

  • A website banner and virtual meeting background

  • Resources to support open day planning.

For external partners and supporters

If you're part of a community organisation, association, or partner, we’d love you to help amplify Public Education Week. You’re welcome to reference the Ignite your potential theme in your newsletters, digital channels or events. Celebrating the impact of public education together helps strengthen connections between schools and their communities.
