Bayanami PS non-operational Wednesday 29 July

Bayanami Public School will be non-operational tomorrow due to a confirmed case of COVID-19.

Bayanami Public School will be non-operational for on-site teaching and learning tomorrow, Wednesday 29 July 2020. Students will undertake learning from home tomorrow.

The school’s before and after school care service (TASK) will also be non-operational tomorrow.

The Department of Education has been advised by NSW Health that a student at Bayanami Public School has tested positive for COVID-19. The school will be non-operational tomorrow for the on-site attendance of staff and students to allow time for the school to complete the contact tracing process and have the school cleaned.

While the school site is non–operational, learning materials are available through the department’s Learning from home website.

NSW Health has requested anyone who has been unwell or has flu-like symptoms to be tested at one of the COVID-19 clinics. Additionally, close contacts of the case will be notified to undertake a 14-day self-isolation after their last contact with the case and undertake testing for COVID-19 if they develop symptoms.

Some COVID-19 testing facilities near the school include:

  • Jeffrey House Clinic at 162 Marsden St, Parramatta, NSW 2150. Open 9am- 4pm on Wednesday 29 July, Thursday 30 July and Friday 31 July.
  • The Children’s Hospital at Westmead Clinic at Level 2, E block, Corner of Hawkesbury Rd and Darcy Rd, Westmead, NSW 2145. Open 7am to 9pm, 7 days a week.

Further advice will be provided tomorrow, advising when the school will resume on-site learning.
