Students hit the red carpet for silver screen event

Thirty-five of the best films from Film By Invitation and CApture will feature in a gala event at Hoyts Entertainment Quarter tonight. Alyssa Terese reports.

More than 900 parents and students from across the State will shine on the silver screen at Hoyts Entertainment Quarter, Moore Park, on Tuesday November 14 for the Film By Invitation and CApture film festivals.

The red carpet events will showcase 35 of the best films across four screens from a staggering pool of more than 600 submissions.

The preview screening of Film By Invitation kicks off at 3pm, with a premiere screening at 7pm and an additional screening at 7.30pm.

CApture film festival has one premiere screening at 7pm with a 15-minute interval.

Both festivals can also be viewed via live stream from 6.50pm:

The live streams will be available for 24 hours to 7pm on Wednesday 15 November, and will then be part of a digital showcase set to launch in mid-December.

Film By Invitation is supported by RØDE, the Australian Film and Radio School, Compnow, Digi Ed and Videocraft Australia.
