In the true spirit of the holiday season, Moorebank High School has come together for its second annual Christmas charity dinner in support of the children at Liverpool Hospital.
The festive event brought together 125 students, faculty, families, and community members, who enjoyed activities including a holiday feast, musical performances by the talented school band and a visit from Santa Claus.
Families are encouraged to contribute a present for a child between the ages of zero to 17 and the gifts are then donated by the school to the Liverpool Hospital children’s ward.
Moorebank High Principal, Vally Grego, said the school was thrilled to host the Christmas charity dinner for a second time and embrace the true meaning of the holiday season by giving back to those in need.
“The dinner aims to give back to our community and put a smile on a child’s face at Liverpool Hospital, and we’ve once again achieved this,” Ms Grego said.
“When local communities build positive relationships, positive outcomes are inevitable, and with this tradition we are establishing with the Moorebank community, we are hoping to instil the true meaning of Christmas.
“The school has worked closely with the hospital over the past two years and is planning a long-term relationship to build positive outcomes within our entire community.”
In attendance was Executive Assistant to the Director of Liverpool Hospital, Meredith Cross, who expressed her astonishment at the generosity of the Moorebank community.
“The number of gifts donated for the children at Liverpool Hospital is outstanding,” she said.
