More than 70 Merewether High School students have lost their locks in support of the World’s Greatest Shave.
Students have so far raised more than $70,000 for the Leukemia Foundation in 2024, with fundraising to continue until the end of the financial year.
The school has been supporting the World’s Greatest Shave for more than a decade, raising well over $400,000 for the charity in that time.
The entire student population filled the school hall for the shave off on Thursday morning.

The Leukaemia Foundation supports Australians being treated for blood cancer.
There are 140,000 families facing blood cancer across the country right now and it takes the lives of 16 Australians every day. These numbers are set to double by 2035.
The money raised by Merewether High students supports research and helps provide accommodation for young cancer patients and their families.
