Accreditation procedures

Direction and guidance on teacher accreditation within NSW public schools, which is regulated and overseen by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).

Audience

All department staff, including permanent, temporary, and casual teachers participating in, applying for and maintaining Proficient and Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher (HALT) accreditation.

About the policy

Under the Professional learning, performance and accreditation policy all employees must participate in professional learning, performance, and accreditation processes to comply with their relevant legislative, department, school and workplace requirements.

The department’s teacher accreditation guidance is under review.
