A newly appointed agriculture teacher from Tamworth High School has won the 2024 Sydney Royal AgShows NSW Young Woman state title.

Domonique Wyse was the first ever winner from Taree, her hometown, representing the local show society.

Ms Wyse started her teaching career in the country music capital at the beginning of Term 1 this year.

With a clear understanding of what country shows can offer students and teachers, she told the local paper she wanted to make the most of her win.

“I’m feeling so honoured to have this role, this program has given me so much and I’m so excited to give back over the next year," she said.

“The goals I hope to achieve include more networking, being an advocate for AgShows NSW, the Royal Agricultural Society, as well as being there for my local community and expanding on that throughout NSW."

In her first few weeks teaching at Tamworth High, Ms Wyse reinstated the school’s show team with an interest in showing stud stock.
