It was a welcome befitting many of the rock stars he counts as his mates.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was mobbed by students and parents when he dropped in on Annandale Public School at the start of the school’s Halloween disco after accepting an invitation from the school’s P&C.

Mr Albanese took some time out from his post-budget media blitz to address students, staff and parents and, as a Halloween treat, rekindled his glory days as a DJ.

The PM had previously visited the school in his role as the local federal Member of Parliament to spin a few records at a school disco. He again yielded to the crowd pressure to play DJ at the Halloween disco, demonstrating he still had some tricks up his sleeve when it came to spinning the vinyl.

During his visit, which coincided with World Teacher’s Day, he also sang the praises of teachers working in public education.

“On World Teacher’s Day, I’d like to acknowledge the incredible effort and dedication of our public school teachers,” Mr Albanese said.
