Students from NSW have enthusiastically responded to a call out for films to mark World Environment Day today.
The Department of Education’s Film by … unit launched a competition asking students across Australia to share their ideas on how to protect Australia’s environment by creating a film between 30 seconds and 3.5 minutes long.
Film by … Aussie Kids president Glen Carter said he was delighted to have received 24 entries given the tight turnaround.
“Students in the Film by movement would normally have a year to finesse their films, so it’s pretty good given they had less than three weeks to get it together,” he said.
The films can be viewed online at Enhance TV.
World Environment Day 2020 calls for urgent action to protect biodiversity.
Film By… is a Department of Education initiative that features an annual series of more than 20 film festivals held in schools and cinemas across the state. It helps improve student outcomes by supporting creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and communication.
