Monday freakout

This story highlights three evidence-based strategies for managing anxiety at school:

- Using relaxation breathing techniques

- Seeking support from a trusted person

- Challenging cognitive distortions (exaggerated or irrational thinking).

You can help students by reading through the story or providing the story to them. You could point out how the students’ school experience is different and similar to that in the story and come up with other positive ways to respond.
