Universal resources - career and workplace learning

Universal support is available for all NSW public schools through a self-service approach. Schools can access high-quality, evidence-informed resources and professional learning to support student and school improvement. Universal resources can be found on the Universal Resources Hub (URH) and universal professional learning is accessed via MyPL.

The resources on the URH are developed by Education support teams and are aligned to the ‘Teaching and Learning’ or ‘School Improvement’ cycles.

Universal resources have been through a rigorous quality assurance process involving assessment against the Universal standards, review by a cross-directorate panel and executive approval before publication.

Career Programs, Career & Workplace Learning team in collaboration with other teams across the department have developed a range of universal resources. The resources are quality assured, evidence based and support teaching and learning, and school improvement. All schools can self-implement these resources.

This resource will be used by schools with secondary students when developing their Strategic Improvement Plan (SIP) as part of the School Excellence cycle. Principals should review this resource with key school staff to discuss how its contents may be useful in their school’s context and consider how it might inform the development of the school’s SIP.
