Second and third-year Bachelor of Education students and Master of Teaching students who meet the eligibility requirements can apply for the Beyond the Line Program.

The Beyond the Line Program allows students the opportunity to explore and experience teaching in regional, rural and remote NSW public schools.

Students with an interest in teaching in rural regions, can expand their employment opportunities by making valuable connections with schools and being supported to undertake their internship/final practicum placement in a regional, rural or remote NSW public school.

There are up to 50 positions offered for each study tour.

The trip will span across 5 days, commencing from Parramatta on Monday and returning to Parramatta on Friday. Participants will be responsible for their journey to and from Parramatta upon trip commencement and trip completion.

Participants will have accommodation, meals and planned activities paid for by the NSW Department of Education. Participants are welcome to bring their own funds to make additional purchases throughout the trip.

The requirements related to professional experience placements are determined by tertiary education providers. Please contact your University’s professional experience coordinator for information and advice.

Applications for the September study tour are currently open. Please submit your application by Friday 7 June 2024, 11:59pm (AEST). Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.
