As one of two anchor tenants of the new whole-of-government data centre, GovDC, the department has played a lead role in the Data Centre Reform (DCR) program.
Since its initiation in 2012., more than 130 diverse government data centres around NSW have been consolidated into two state-of-the-art facilities. ITD has successfully migrated services to the new facilities and is completing the decommissioning of our former sites.
New projects under development include partnership work with the department's Assets Management Directorate and schools to create and test technology models for Future Focused Learning Spaces.
In coming months, ITD will also be developing plans to implement the $46M Connecting Country Schools program, to upgrade wireless services and connectivity for some of the most remote schools in the state.
