Microsoft software products are available for staff and students as part of the enterprise agreement.

Availability and access to different products varies depending on the device and the software.

Department devices

Your DoE device comes with Microsoft Office installed. Schools can also download other Microsoft products from the DoE software catalogue. Licensing requirements vary with each product.

Staff owned personal devices

Free

These products are available at no cost to all staff (administrative and teaching, full and part time) under our enterprise agreement.

  • Office 365 – online Office apps
    • To access go to: Staff portal > My Learning Tools > Office 365
  • Microsoft Office 365 Desktop Apps – may be installed on up to five computers and ten mobile devices.
    • To Install go to: Staff portal > My Learning Tools >  Microsoft Office 365 > Install Office

Work at Home (WAH)

Recent versions of Windows and Microsoft Office can be obtained under the WAH program for a small administration fee through the reseller.

  • Windows Education upgrade license
  • Office Professional Plus
  • Office for Mac

All WAH licenses belong to the department. Ex-employees are not licensed to use any of the above software and must uninstall the software from their personal devices upon leaving the department.

Student owned devices and BYOD

These products are available at no cost to all DoE students under our enterprise agreement.

  • Office 365 – online Office apps
    • To access go to: Students portal > Learning > Office 365
  • Microsoft Office 365 Desktop Apps – may be installed on up to five computers and ten mobile devices.
    • To install go to: Students portal > Learning > Office 365 > Install Office
  • Students can also access additional free software for their devices from the students' BYOD software website.
