Key vendor relationship management

ITD staff engage with ICT vendors for the supply of IT services and products to students and staff in schools and corporate offices.

Well-managed vendor relationships result in better customer satisfaction, reduced costs, better quality, and improved service from vendors.

Senior ITD staff members are responsible for engaging with key vendors to strengthen vendor relationships and to measure the value they provide to the department. This responsibility applies to current IT projects and expertise and covers only ITD?s engagement with vendors concerning strategic and operational corporate IT projects.

Any staff members who engage with any of the department?s primary IT vendors need to ensure they:

  • consult with the assigned vendor relationship owner prior to accepting meetings, operational or otherwise, with vendors
  • escalate any issues, commercial or operational, to the assigned owner.
