HSC Common Start Funding

The HSC Common Start program provides funds for newly created Year 12 classes.

Principals use an online form to indicate the number of additional classes formed to cater for:

  • English Extension 2
  • Mathematics Extension 2
  • History Extension
  • Music Extension
  • Science Extension
  • Language extension courses.

Applications open in October for schools that create additional extension classes which commence in Term 4 2022 to cater for students working towards the 2023 HSC.

Applications close Friday 2 December 2022.

From Term 1, funding should be used to support the HSC teacher and/or students.
Support may include, but is not limited to:

  • Professional learning
  • Purchasing resources
  • Mentoring for the extension teacher.

2023 HSC monitoring advice – Schools develop monitoring procedures to ensure the delivery of Year 11 and Year 12 courses comply with NESA and department requirements.
