School readiness test

The school readiness test is for schools transitioning to NAPLAN Online in 2022 and is designed to check a school's readiness to conduct NAPLAN Online. The school readiness test will be available for schools to schedule at their convenience between 16 August and 15 December 2021.

The readiness test consists of two 40 minute assessments: an omnibus test with reading, conventions of language and numeracy items, and a writing task. Students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 participate in the school readiness test. Year 3 students do not participate in the writing assessment.

School readiness test participation

Schools select their participation week within the readiness test window.

Details about the SRT test structure and participation requirements are available on the NESA website.

Practice test

All schools will participate in a practice test between 21 March and 1 April 2022 (including a coordinated practice test in March 2022). The practice test will require the participation of the entire school cohort of NAPLAN year students, completing an omnibus test and a writing test (Years 5, 7 and 9 only).

NESA will provide more information about preparation activities to all schools.
