Welcome to our newest FASTstream participants

Our 2022 FASTstream participants started their journey with a full-day induction into the program.

The SLI welcomed 41 new FASTstream participants, their mentors and principals with an online induction event introducing them to the 2023 program.

During today’s event the new participants were given a comprehensive insight into how the program works, including the program phases, progression through the program and the leadership development opportunities that will be available throughout their time in FASTstream.

There were also sessions on mentoring, the moral purpose of public education and an introduction to the SLI’s Leadership Mindsets.

The 2023 cohort will join 48 current FASTstreamers already working in NSW public schools in 2022.

They were chosen for their passion and commitment to teaching, school leadership and public education, and have demonstrated the skills and qualities that will help them progress in their leadership careers.

FASTstream helps identify and develop the school leaders of the future by offering up to 50 current teachers and teaching graduates access to leadership learning opportunities, while gaining experience in different school contexts.

Participants receive support, mentoring and professional development opportunities from the SLI, guiding them to become ready for principalship within 10 years.

Today’s participants will begin their placement in their FASTstream host schools in Term 1 2023.

Applications for the third cohort of FASTstream will open early in 2023.
