Fast start to Term 4 for School Leadership team

It's been a fast start to Term 4 for the School Leadership Institute.

What a month it’s been for the School Leadership Institute team.

Congratulations to the almost 260 NSW public school leaders who completed their Middle Leader Induction earlier this week.

Participants enjoyed 2 days of online learning, exploring topics such as the role of middle leaders, performance and improvement and expectations of leading teaching and learning.

Leadership expert Matt Church delivered a masterclass on Agents of Impact, while SLI Director Joanne Jarvis led a panel Q and A on leading with moral purpose.

This week we’ve also selected 51 emerging leaders for the next cohort of our sought-after Senior Leadership – Aspiring Principals Leadership Program. Participants are set to start their learning from early next year.

Term 4 started with a ‘Meet the Minister’ online session for our first participants in the FASTstream program.

Education Minister Sarah Mitchell spent nearly two hours chatting with the 50 high-achieving graduates and teachers, who will start in their new schools next year.

The SLI team has been busy assessing applications for the new Middle Leadership Development Program. The program’s first 200 participants are set to start in Term 1 2022.

Our rural leaders have also been busy. Participants in the Rural and Remote Leadership Development Program recently enjoyed a webinar with Dr Cam Brooks and are now busy preparing for a 3-day leadership conference in Week 5, a major component of the program.
