School Leadership Identification Framework resources and support for schools
The SLI team is providing a suite of resources and additional support for schools under the SLIF 2021 pilot program.

A new series of videos and discussion guides featuring current and aspiring school leaders are now available as a resource for all staff, as part of the School Leadership Identification Framework (SLIF) pilot program.
The videos feature teacher leaders and middle leaders discussing some of the key elements of the SLIF, and cover topics including supporting teacher leaders, effective feedback, and the importance of mentoring.
Each video includes a discussion guide which can be used by individual teachers and teaching teams to explore each topic, as well as links to further reading and information.
These resources are a great example of the practical and relevant professional development and learning opportunities the SLI provides to teachers and school leaders across the NSW public school system.
They have been developed as part of the SLIF pilot program, which involves 78 schools and around 2000 teachers and school executive staff across the state.
As part of the pilot, the SLI team has been offering a series of professional learning seminars to staff, covering subjects such as identifying and developing teacher leaders, approaches to mentoring, feedback and inquiry.
The SLI team will also be visiting SLIF pilot schools during Terms 2 and 3 this year to provide individual support and begin evaluating the pilot. A research project into the relative importance of leadership capabilities and behaviours will also take place later in 2021.
The SLIF and accompanying professional learning tools and resources will be rolled out to staff in all NSW public schools in Term 1, 2022
