Registrations for the 2023 Semester 1 Principal Induction Conference (PIC) are now open.

The conference runs from Wednesday 1 March to Friday 3 March and will return to a face-to-face format in 2023.

It’s been more than 2 years since new principals were able to come together in person for induction due to restrictions enforced by the COVID-19 pandemic.

School Leadership Institute (SLI) Director Joanne Jarvis said the conference program would provide fantastic professional learning and networking opportunities for new principals.

“We can’t wait to welcome our newly appointed, first-time or long-term relieving principals to induction in 2023,” she said.

“This conference is such an important part of a new principal’s professional learning and development as leader of their school.

“We’re really looking forward to meeting all the new principals and providing them with the tools and resources to support them in their leadership journey.”

The conference program is delivered by the SLI and is grounded in evidence-informed research. It aims to:

• Deepen principals’ understanding of their role.
• Support principals in meeting their accountabilities.
• Develop leadership capability by strengthening principals’ understanding of key department policy and procedures in leading their schools.
• Build collegial networks.
