The School Leadership Institute’s new Principal Leadership Learning (PLL) program is off to a great start, with the first of two sessions hosted by Andy Hargreaves on refocusing genuine student engagement attended by over 160 NSW principals yesterday.
Andy’s session was the first in the Insights Series for Principals, one of 3 elements of the PLL program.
During the webinar Andy talked about the need for re-engaging students in a post-COVID learning environment through inclusive models of learning and with a strong focus on helping students feel fulfilled and happy at school.
He identified the ‘5 enemies of engagement’: disenchantment, disconnection, disassociation, disempowerment and distraction.
Participants will meet with Andy again next fortnight for facilitated group discussion exploring magic, mastery and the antidotes to disengagement.
The Insights Series also features webinars and other events with leadership and educational experts Michael Fullan and Matt Church.
More information about the PLL and future events is available on the SLI’s staff pages.
