FASTstream program wraps up for 2021

FASTstream program’s first cohort of participants, school-based mentors and host principals attended virtual sessions that were a hit with audiences.

FASTstream’s initial cohort of 20 recent graduates and 30 current teachers will start their placements from Term 1, 2022 in a range of metro, regional, rural and remote schools across NSW.

Over 2021, the School Leadership Institute’s FASTstream team delivered a range of virtual sessions for participants, school-based mentors and host principals about:

  • the FASTstream program and how it will work in host schools
  • networking opportunities
  • mentoring
  • leadership mindsets
  • leading with emotional intelligence

FASTstream participants will have access to the School Leadership Institute’s programs including the Middle Leaders Development Program and the Senior Leadership – Aspiring Principals Leadership Program.

Together, with ongoing support from host schools and the School Leadership Institute, it is anticipated that FASTstream participants will have developed their capabilities to lead a school within 10 years via the usual merit-based process.

The FASTstream program benefits the participants, our schools and the wider education system, by developing highly-skilled school leaders of the future.
