FASTstream participants start first school placements

The first cohort of FASTstream teachers and teaching graduates are now settling in to school placements across NSW.

FASTstream’s first cohort of teachers have commenced placements in metro, regional, rural and remote schools across NSW.

The first FASTstream cohort is made up of 20 beginning teachers and 30 current teachers.

FASTstream is a new program designed to support these teachers to fast track their careers as school leaders.

In 2022, FASTstream Cohort 1 will be hosted by 49 schools across the state. Of these schools, 29 are primary and 18 are secondary, one is a central school and one is a school for specific purpose.

There are 24 teachers who have been placed in regional and rural schools, with 15 participants at schools in inner regional NSW and 7 at schools in outer regional NSW, while 2 participants have started placements in schools classified as remote.

Together, with ongoing support from the School Leadership Institute and host schools, FASTstream participants will develop their teaching and leadership skills over the 10 years of the program.
