FASTstream participants meet the Minister

Participants in the School Leadership Institute's new FASTstream program had the opportunity to chat with Minister for Education Sarah Mitchell.

The first 50 participants in the new FASTstream program had the opportunity to chat with Minister for Education Sarah Mitchell this week.

It was a fantastic opportunity for participants to speak to the Minister about why they applied for the FASTstream program, as well as the passion they hold for public education and their desire to make a difference for students.

FASTstream participants will begin their teaching placements at schools around NSW in metropolitan, regional, rural and remote settings in Term 1, 2022.

The virtual meeting with the Minister followed an online drop-in session on Thursday 7 October for principals.

The drop-in session featured a number of principals from across the state, sharing what they planned for their FASTstream participant when they start their placement next year.

School-based mentors will have an opportunity to hear more about the FASTstream program with our next virtual drop-in session on Thursday 14 October.

The session will provide an overview of the FASTstream program, mentoring principles and the role of school-based mentors.

A full-day virtual induction session for participants, principals of participating schools and their school-based mentors will be held later this term.
