Deputy Principal Induction Conference

The Deputy Principal Induction Conference (DPIC) is a core component of engagement for newly appointed, first-time and long-term relieving deputy principals.

About the DPIC

The 2022 Deputy Principal Induction Conference (DPIC) will be delivered online from 15-16 September 2022.

The conference program is grounded in evidence-informed research and aims to:

  • deepen deputy principals’ understanding of their role
  • support deputy principals in meeting their accountabilities
  • develop leadership capability by strengthening school leadership and management practices
  • build collegial networks.

Teacher relief will be available to participants, funded by the SLI.

Who should participate?

Deputy principals and long-term relieving deputy principals (6 months or more) who have not previously attended a DPIC.

Our world-class program provides an exciting opportunity for established deputy principals to support the leadership development of new and emerging deputy principals, while also enhancing their own knowledge and understanding.

If you are interested in facilitating at the DPIC, please contact the SLI at

Participant feedback

I absolutely loved the experience and feel so grateful to have had the opportunity to be part of the conference.
The entire conference was relevant, informative and inspiring.
From the leadership and inspirational session to kick us off (to the day-to-day necessities such as legal and EPMI it was really valuable.
