Panel meeting and report
What is the purpose of the panel meeting?
The panel meeting provides an opportunity for the school leadership team to share their evidence with the panel and engage in meaningful discussions about progress and achievements using the School Excellence Framework (SEF). The panel meeting is not an inspection or audit.
What is the duration of the panel meeting?
External validation meetings will usually take place:
- starting at either 9.30am or 1:00pm as per external validation notification
- for up to 2.5 hours to accommodate a discussion of approximately 30 minutes with respect to the school’s future directions.
When is the external validation report prepared?
A report is prepared by the panel directly after the panel meeting to indicate whether evidence provided by the school supports the judgements made in the final submission. The external validation panel thoroughly considers the executive summary, the body of evidence and the discussions from the meeting.
The report also provides the school with the opportunity to reflect on their self-assessment processes and comment on how these may be improved and embedded in their future practices.
Once finalised, the final report will be available to the principal in School Planning and Reporting Online (SPaRO).
