Teaching Standards in Action
Two courses at the Highly Accomplished career stage on the Teaching Standards in Action website support practice-focused mentors:
- Coaching for classroom change - RG00320. Offering 12 hours of NESA Registered PD, this course helps participants fully integrate expert teaching approaches into their colleague's practice. To do this, it focuses on the principles and techniques of coaching.
- Designing lessons with colleagues - RG00344. Offering 12 hours of NESA Registered PD, this course helps participants build their colleagues’ capacity to design effective lessons. They'll learn how to design a coaching plan and engage colleagues in effective professional development, classroom observations, and constructive feedback.
AITSL’s coaching resources explore the concept of coaching and common themes of successful coaching programs. As well, a coaching toolkit is available for teachers that can support mentors in school-based induction programs.
