Module instructions

If you have not previously accessed Moodle, you will be required to register.

Steps involved:

  • Login into your Department of Education portal
  • Click My Training
  • Click Professional Learning/Compliance training – online courses
  • Moodle home page will appear
  • Use your department staff username and password to login
  • Once logged in you will be directed to the module you have chosen.

  • iPad Air.

Browsers

  • Chrome – automatically updates
  • Internet Explorer – 10 and above
  • FireFox – 32 and above
  • Safari – 9.0 and above.

How do I find the browser version?

  • Chrome – click Chrome, then ‘About Google Chrome’
  • Internet Explorer – click on the first icon (little cog) on the far right, then down the bottom click ‘About Internet Explorer’
  • FireFox – click on the first icon (three lines) on the far right, then down the bottom click the question mark (?), then ‘About FireFox’
  • Safari – click Safari, then ‘About Safari’.

Module structure

Each module will contain:

  • Detailed overview
  • Pre-reading
  • Content
  • Assessment
  • Recommended further reading, if available.

How to complete a module

  • You will be required to read the pre-reading and e-learning content before attempting the assessment.
  • Progress through the module sections sequentially, beginning at the Overview.

To access the module pre-reading

Click on the arrow to reveal the list.

  • Each hyperlink will pop-up in a new window, please ensure that your pop-up blocker is disabled.
  • If you are unable to see the pop-up window, move your current window to reveal the hidden pop-up window.

Tip: If you wish to refer back to any of the pre-reading as you progress through the module (as the assessment is open book), keep the relevant windows open.

To access the module content

  • Click on the arrow to expand the section.
  • To launch the module click on the link and a pop-up window will appear, please ensure that your pop-up blocker is disabled.
  • If you are unable to see the pop-up window, move your current window to reveal the hidden pop-up window.
  • Move the window aside (do not close) this will then allow you to refer to any of the content whilst doing the assessment.

To access the module assessment

  • Click on the arrow to expand the section.
  • To launch the module assessment, click on the link. Please note, that the assessment will open in the current window.
  • There are 10 assessment questions which allow for two attempts per question, except for true/false questions.
  • You can take the assessment as many times as you like, note that each try is recorded.
  • You must answer every question correctly (100%) to pass the module.
  • Ensure you click the Exit button to record all efforts.
  • Assessment questions must be completed independently.
