Leadership Fellowships provide an exciting and rewarding opportunity for principals, or groups of principals, to undertake research in aspects of evidence-based school leadership in Australia and/or overseas.
What does the Fellowship provide?
Up to four statewide recipients will each receive $10,000 and 10 days special leave.
If successful, you must complete the Fellowship within the year following the announcement of the Fellowships. Funds can be used for flights, car hire, accommodation, meals and conference fees. Funds cannot be used for resources such as laptop computers.
Who can apply?
Only principals can apply for a Fellowship. You must be:
- a substantive principal of a NSW public school
- a permanent member of the Teaching Service of the NSW Department of Education
- an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia.
You must satisfy probity checks and have met all service and standing requirements. You cannot be a previous recipient of a Frank Farrell Award or a Leadership Fellowship.
You are required to remain with the NSW Department of Education for two years after completing your Fellowship.
When are applications due?
Leadership Fellowships Application - Part 1 is now open and closes on 1 December 2017.
How do I apply?
The 2017 Leadership Fellowship Application process will have two parts. Part 1 must be completed by 1 December 2017.
Please ensure you have a written/signed consent (an email would suffice) from your Director PS NSW, endorsing your application, as well as your signed version of the Fellowship conditions above. You will be required to upload these documents once you click the link to apply below.
This must be completed by 1 December 2017 by all applicants.
The State Leadership Fellowship Selection Panel will then review applications, provide feedback and select applicants to continue to Part 2, which must be completed by 19 February 2018.
Apply for the 2017 State Leadership Fellowship Program – Part 2 (coming soon)
This must be completed by 19 February 2018 by selected applicants only. You will be advised by the panel if you are required to complete this part of the application.
Submit a Referee Report (coming soon)
This must be completed by 19 February 2018 only by Referees appointed by the applicant and contacted by the panel.
