Sampling

Sampling is the process of selecting some respondents from a population of interest who will help answer your evaluation questions. This might be a subset of a population from whom you collect data and then apply the findings to generalise back to the larger population. Alternately you might, for example, sample people from a population who represent extreme cases that won’t provide generalisable findings, but rather shed light on the diversity of experiences.
