250 years of James Cook

This year marks 250 years since Captain James Cook arrived in the Pacific. This resource is a product of research reflecting on what happened and how it shapes us today.

Students can travel back in time with Cook250 to explore the history of the landing of Captain James Cook. Australia of this time had 500 nations and diverse languages.

The endeavour fist made land on 29 April 1770 at Kamay on the lands of the Gweagal Clan of the Dharawal nation. Cook called it Botany Bay.
